Woman dies after hit-and-run in Denton

Police are appealing for information from the public after a collision between a car and pedestrian in Denton.

The incident took place on Ashton Road, Denton, shortly before 1am on Monday 12 July.

Seen fleeing the scene was a white BMW 220D.

Emergency services then attended a 49-year-old woman, who was later taken to hospital and sadly pronounced dead.

The BMW became involved in another collision with an unoccupied Ford Transit - parked at the junction where Denton Road turns onto Mayfield Street - and failed to stop again.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741, quoting incident number 195 of 12/07/21.
