New name given to Stalybridge food festival

A new name has been given to the monthly food festival in Stalybridge.

Originally named Foodie Friday, the food event will now go by Stalybridge Street Feast. Organisers say this change will help to ‘put Stalybridge on the map’.

“This title provides a title solely associated with the historic town of Stalybridge and will avoid any confusion with other events across the region.

This will fully encompass the key features of this special street-food experience where people can meet friends and enjoy entertainment.”

Tameside Council and The Market Co also plan to close the road much earlier to allow for traders to be positioned in the road and to allow extra room for queues.

Extra delicious choices will be on offer this time around and the number of vendors will increase. Extended bar facilities will also be on offer with better provision for coffee, tea and soft drinks.

Organisers say the seating area will now flow to both sides of the canal and there will be additional bins and portaloos.
