Fitness legend Mr Motivator will be getting locals moving at a day of family fun this weekend.
Tameside and Glossop folk are invited to a Family Fun Day on Sunday (8 September) from 11am to 3pm, in the giant marquee at the back of Tameside Hospital.
Mr Motivator, who rose to fame in the 1990s during fitness workouts on breakfast TV, will be doing fitness workouts and demonstrations suitable for people of all ages.
“I am so looking forward to being there so that I can continue to prove how much fun you can have from being active,” said Mr Motivator.
“To increase your levels of fitness doesn’t have to cost anything. There are so many things you can do, from walking, dancing, going up and down the stairs, gardening or just getting out the home and enjoying the local public green spaces.”
There is also a full schedule of live entertainment, featuring a live DJ, dance troupe and a Bollywood dancing group.
In the marquee, there will be more than 30 exhibition stands, ranging from healthy eating advice to information on mental health and diabetes.
The kids can be kept occupied with a selection of free fairground rides and there will be a range of healthy foods to indulge yourself - including a cookery demonstration.
There will be free parking too, so there’s plenty of reasons to go along to the fun day, which has been organised by NHS Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Foundation Trust.
Chief executive Karen James said: “This year’s Family Fun Day looks like it’s going to be the best one yet!
“Now in its seventh year, we open the doors of the organisation to our local people, to help look after the health and wellbeing of our local community.”
