MP praises winter warmers initiative

Hyde and Stalybridge MP Jonathan Reynolds has praised an initiative to delivering winter warmer packs to those in need.

The Hattersley Winter Warmer Packs initiative was established to help vulnerable people in Hattersley this winter.

A joint bid was submitted by the Longdendale councillors, Hattersley Projects, Zest, Community Matters and Onward Homes to Tameside Council for a grant from their Covid Winter Pressures Fund.

The collaboration was awarded £10,000 to create 100 Winter Warmer Packs each month for February, March and April.

The packs include food items, a blanket, hand warmers, flask, hand cream, lip balm, activities and wellbeing information.

They will be made available to the elderly and those most in need living in Hattersley or Mottram.
