Mother and pregnant daughter robbed in Denton

A pregnant woman was thrown to the floor in a shocking robbery in Denton in which an Audi was stolen.

Greater Manchester Police have released CCTV footage of the incident, which happened on Tuesday 28 December at around 5.20pm on Bond Street.

In the footage, the victims - two women in their 50s and 30s - get out of their black Audi TTS Quattro and begin to walk away from it before two masked men approach and proceed to assault them.

The pregnant woman was thrown to the ground and had the keys to the car taken from her by the men, who then made off in the Audi onto Hyde Road towards Hyde.

GMP say no arrests have yet been made but several lines of enquiry are being carried out.

The force is appealing for the public’s help to identify the men, and say even the slightest information could prove crucial in the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Peter Goddard, of GMP Tameside's Serious Acquisitive Crime Team, said: "We're desperate to hear from anyone who may have information about this incident, which saw a pregnant woman shockingly thrown to the floor.

"It is clear that these offenders are cowardly and dangerous individuals who will try and prey on vulnerable people in the street regardless of their surroundings or the time of day and we are doing all we can to catch them.

"No arrests have yet been made but we are carrying out several lines of enquiry and hope that anyone who recognises these men - or who may have dash-cam footage of a vehicle matching the stolen Audi's description - to get in touch with us on 0161 856 9372 quoting incident 2034 of 28/12/2021.

"Information can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
