Mossley Hollins remember lost loved ones

Mossley Hollins High School paid tribute to a member of staff and a student with a cake sale in their memory.

Much-loved staff member Diane Kershaw and ‘amazing’ student George Butterworth both sadly lost their lives to cancer this year.

The school held a Macmillan Coffee and Cake Morning, with students baking and brewing to raise money for the charity. So far they have raised a fabulous £679.

Head boy at the school William Mason said: “Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer.

“Almost one in two people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and some may go through this with no support and nobody to guide them; this is why we donate to Macmillan and other charities alike as much as we can from our school.”
