Mossley churches are selling masks

Parishioners in Mossley can show their support for two of the town's churches at the same time as keeping safe.

St John’s and St George’s churches are selling bespoke face coverings with images from the two churches.

The face masks feature the rose window of St George’s and a detail from the John the Baptist window, on the north side of the sanctuary at St John’s.

The masks cost £5 each which includes a donation of £2 to parish funds and £1 to Christian Aid.

The Vicar of Mossley, Father David Warner, said: “We wanted to help people to keep safe, as well as to show off some of the beautiful art in our churches - we’re so lucky to have such beautiful stained glass and these masks are a great way of showing them off!

“We’re also using the sales of the face coverings to enable us to support Christian Aid, as they work with people suffering from Covid-19 and other illnesses around the world without the benefit of the amazing NHS we too often take for granted.”

The masks are on sale at the churches.
