Mayor's Ball raises vital charity funds

The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Cllr Leigh Drennan, rolled out the red carpet last Saturday at Dukinfield Town Hall for the Mayor's annual ball.

The major fundraiser boosted his charities by an amazing £8,662 with a huge raffle with some amazing prizes.

Mayors from across the region were special guests, including the Mayor of Oldham.

Revellers enjoyed a night which included a formal dinner, plus entertainment from “Britain’s Got Talent” semi-finalist Danny Beard before dancing the night away.

All proceeds will be donated to the Mayor’s charities - the LGBT Foundation; Believe and Achieve Trust; TOG MIND; Millstream Animal Shelter and Tameside 4 Good.

The Mayor recently visited Starcutouts in Audenshaw, touring the factory in Guide Bridge and where he was presented with a cut out of himself.

The business also donated character cut-outs to auction off at the ball.
