Marking World Day of Prayer

Services were held at churches throughout Tameside to celebrate World Day of Prayer 2020.

The World Day of Prayer Service was held at the Methodist Church on High Street, Stalybridge, last Friday afternoon (March 6).

Meanwhile, the congregation of Dukinfield Old Chapel held a special service later in the evening to mark the occasion, which is celebrated annually in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March.

The movement aims to bring together women of various races, cultures and traditions in a yearly common Day of Prayer.

This year, the service was written by the women of Zimbabwe.
