Man charged with endangering an aircraft in Tameside

A 28-year-old man from Ashton has been charged with recklessly endangering an aircraft in Tameside.

Reece Taylor, of Margaret Street, has been charged in connection with an incident involving a GMP police helicopter in the St Peter's area of Ashton.

He has been bailed to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court on 23 December, after being charged under the Air Navigation Order 2016.

Officers from GMP's Ashton-under-Lyne Neighbourhood Team were called to Katherine Street at about 5:30pm on Thursday (25 November) to reports that a light was being shone at the helicopter.
