Local lads Y.O.U.N.G. to headline Stalybridge homeless gig

A stellar line-up of local artists will come together for a charity gig in Stalybridge later this month, to help eradicate homelessness.

‘Off the Streets’ will raise money for Andy Burnham’s homelessness fund, with the Greater Manchester Mayor making an appearance on the night.

The show, at Stalybridge Labour Club, will be headlined by Mottram five-piece Y.O.U.N.G. The rock/rap band will be performing a hometown show, having recently returned from Los Angeles, where they played the legendary venue, The Viper Room.

Vocalist and lead guitarist, Chez Davis, says the boys can’t wait for the night. “The Mayor won’t know what’s hit him!” he said.

“It’s going to be a great night and it’s for a good cause. We did something last year for The Big Issue so it’s something close to our hearts and Stalybridge is our local town so it’s good to do a show here for once, rather than in Manchester or elsewhere on the road. It’s going to go off!”

Also on the bill are The Modern Business, The Maitlands, Oceans on Mars, Cobain Jones, Cassiopeia, Elmo Ashall Kelly and Jay Orchard.

Cllr Sam Gosling, manager of the Stalybridge Labour Club, said: “I think this will be the biggest charity night we’ve done. We did one for a local foodbank last year which was great, we raised over £1000, but I think this has took it up a level, especially with Y.O.U.N.G agreeing to headline. There are still a few tickets available so make sure you get yours.”

Doors on the night open at 5pm on Friday, October 25 and tickets are just £10. You can buy them www.newstalybridgelabourclub.com/product/off-the-streets-fundraiser and any unsold tickets will be available on the door.
