It's going to be hot at Stalybridge Street Feast

The dark November evening will be full of fire at the next Stalybridge Street Feast on Friday (12 November).

At a time of year known for Halloween and Bonfire Night, the popular monthly event will be taking a spectacular twist with the addition of some suitably fantastic entertainment in the shape of the Plague Doctors, Bessemer the Dragon, and Toni the Fire Bat – all courtesy of Mossley-based carnival artists Global Grooves.

Stand by for them to wow the crowds with their quest to purify the dark elements with dragon fire.

All this will be in addition to the usual mouthwatering array of street food and drink in the historic surroundings of Armentieres Square. Once again patrons will be to take advantage of additional seating inside the Victorian civic hall.

Cllr Eleanor Wills, project lead for Stalybridge Street Feast, said: “Street Feast has been a huge success since it started in July but I think this one could be the best.

“It’ll be a truly impressive and family-friendly evening.

“Global Grooves are an internationally respected organisation recognised by Arts Council England and have a proven reputation for supplying the spectacular.

“If you want a great night out with the family, please come along. You won’t be disappointed.”

Street Feast has enjoyed great popularity since it was launched in July, with thousands of people coming into Stalybridge to enjoy the first-class food and drink on offer around Armentieres Square.

The event aims to put the town on Greater Manchester’s food and drink map. If you have an appetite for quality food and drink, as well as a taste for the spectacular, head to Armentieres Square and Stalybridge Civic Hall between 5-9pm.

The road around Armentieres Square will be closed from 2pm to 10pm.
