It's an honour to serve for an Ashton restaurant

A vegetarian restaurant in Ashton was given the ultimate honour after being asked to cater for the Palace of Westminster.

Lily’s Vegetarian Indian Cuisine is well known in the local area for their fantastic vegetarian menu, however their customers expanded beyond Tameside recently as they travelled to London for the cross-party Diwali event.

This was the first cross-party event held under the Speakership of Right Honourable Lindsay Hoyle MP and was co-hosted by Navendu Mishra, MP for Stockport.

The festival of light arrived last week with celebrators across the globe taking the time to spend with their loved ones.

This year, the Palace of Westminster was home to hundreds of guests, gathering to enjoy the holiday.

As a loyal customer of Lily’s, Navendu Mishra MP recommended that they cater for the event.

This came as welcome news for the Ashton establishment, who were beyond proud to step up to the task.

“It’s such a prestigious event and we’re so proud to have had the honour of catering.

“Going to Parliament isn’t an everyday task and it’s especially special to us being from the North,” Prital Sachdev owner of Lily’s said.

The serving staff from Lily’s attended the event, providing their exceptional waiting skills and ensuring that all guests were treated to the best service.

All guests thoroughly enjoyed the food provided and only wished to have more of it. The team have received lots of positive feedback from guests since the event.

This was a fantastic opportunity for Lily’s and one that the team will never forget.
