Food bank founder Steven Barton's Easter egg campaign is on course to crack 10,000 eggs collected for those most in need.
Steven (pictured), who operates Barty’s Food Bank, located at the New Labour Club in Stalybridge, collects Easter eggs to donate to local good causes every year.
This year’s collection is well underway and has already topped 7,500 as he looks to achieve the target of collecting 10,000 Easter eggs for the community.
All of the eggs are distributed in time for Easter to numerous good causes including local hospitals, the NSPCC, clic Sergeant, care homes, schools, women’s centres, old folks’ homes, the homeless and families in need.
Steven reports that donations have flooded in and thanks everyone who has helped or donated to date.
“I am very humble and overwhelmed at how much you support me, it’s truly staggering,” he said.
“We are on course to go beyond 10,000 eggs, which in a pandemic is incredible.”
