Increase in crimes in Stalybridge

Police are urging residents in Stalybridge to be vigilant following a recent spate of crimes.

Greater Manchester Police's Tameside North division say there has been an increase in residential burglaries, shed break-ins and theft of motor vehicles in the Mottram Road and Mottram Old Road of the town over the last couple of weeks, in particular last weekend.

They added in a statement: "Any CCTV that we are aware of is being sourced and viewed. We are urging anyone that sees anyone acting suspiciously to please get in contact."

You can get in touch with the police by sending a message via the GMP Tameside North page or calling the non-emergency number 101.

You can also report a crime by ringing the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
