Hyde residents urged to help clean up the town

Residents in Hyde are being encouraged to get involved in three socially-distanced litter picks in the town this month.

Hyde Werneth councillors Ruth Welsh and Phil Chadwick have organised two community litter picks.

It's part of the Great British September Clean, which starts on Friday 11 September.

Litter picks and rubbish bags will be provided but people should bring in their own gloves if needed.

They are taking place on Saturday 12 September.

For the first litter pick, residents should meet outside Aqua Nurture on Knott Lane at 10am.

For the second litter pick, people are asked to meet outside St George's Church at 1pm.

Cllrs Welsh and Chadwick said: "We hope that you can attend and help us clean the communities that we all live in, as part of the Great British September Clean."

Meanwhile, GX Brabyns Neighbourhood Watch group have organised to meet at Sam Redfern Green car park at 10am on Sunday 20 September for another litter pick in Gee Cross village.
