How TOG MIND is supporting World Suicide Prevention Day

Tameside, Glossop and Oldham MIND have planned several events for tomorrow (Friday) to raise awareness of World Suicide Prevention Day.

They’ll be holding an arts and crafts session, both face-to-face and through Zoom. Residents will be able to make affirmation banners and bunting to hang up around their home or in MIND’s wellbeing hub.

To attend, contact carolinecook@togmind.org or call 0161 330 9223.

The TOG centre can be found on 216-218 Katherine St, Ashton-under-Lyne OL6 7AS.

On the day, resources and free training materials are going to be made available to people. Whether you’re feeling suicidal, worried about someone else or have lost someone to suicide, TOG MIND aims to reach out to the community.

Younger people can also connect with the dedicated youth team and access a range of resources.

TOG has delivered training courses to over 1000 people during lockdown, including Mental Health First Aid. They’ll be highlighting the benefits of getting involved and the types of training you could do.
