Hincks resigns as joint-manager with immediate effect

Mossley have today confirmed the resignation of joint-manager Terry Hicks with immediate effect.

Hincks joined the club alongside Dave Wild towards the end of last season and guided the Lilywhites to safety in what was previously known as the Evo-Stik First Division North.

The duo recruited well over summer and hit the ground running in the Evo-Stik West, embarking on a seven-game unbeaten run at the start of the season in all competitions.

Such was the quality of the squad, the Lilywhites' impressive form continued throughout large parts of the season, and were consequently positioned in and around the playoffs. However, they were denied a spot with three games to spare after falling to defeat at Ramsbottom United.

Mossley, who have increased their average attendance considerably this season, also appeared in the Manchester Premier Cup final after replacing FC United of Manchester, who were expelled due to fielding an ineligible player. Despite a valiant effort against Curzon Ashton, who play their trade in two divisions above, Mossley were beaten 3-1.

In a statement to the club's Twitter account, Hincks said: "To the players, staff, board and volunteers, thank you. To the supporters, thank you so much for backing us to the hilt. You have been immense.

“I’ve had an amazing 14 months and I can't thank you all enough. I wish you every success and am sure you will keep moving forward.”
