Smiling Jordan Banks.

A man from Tameside has been touched by the story of Jordan Banks and has decided to do his part to make a difference.

On Tuesday evening, 9 year old Jordan Banks was struck by lightening in Blackpool while out playing football at his local playing fields. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly died shortly after.

The news of this tragic story has gripped the hearts of everyone across the nation, striking countless tribute posts online. Dean Kleban was just one of the people who has been deeply affected by the news, inciting him to raise funds for the family.

Dean has spoken on his idea around creating a fundraiser in the memory of Jordan Banks.

"Upon hearing the news of Jordan's tragic accident I felt compelled to do something in his memory. I did not know him or his family but as a father and football lover it touched my heart.

"With the support of friends in the football community we have been able to raise over £2,700 so far and with the original target being £1,000, we are amazed by the generosity of the public at this challenging time.

"We aim to continue fundraising and will soon be making contact with Jordan's family to arrange how the money will spent to continue the legacy of the talented No7," he says.

You can view the fundraiser created by clicking here, Dean is encouraging people to donate anything they can to help support Jordan's family during this heartbreaking time.
