Fundraisers show their superpowers to support TOG Mind

Local fundraisers at Pure Gym Ashton recently took part in a challenge to raise money for the charity Tameside, Oldham and Glossop Mind.

Both staff and customers at the gym, based at Ashton Retail Park on Wellington Road, took part in a selection of classes with many getting into the spirit of things and revealing hidden powers in not only getting active but also raising vital funds for mental health support locally.

Everyone taking part last Monday (4 October) popped a few pounds in a bucket for each class and then got stuck in, with words of support and encouragement from the team up front.

Over the course of the evening, collectively the team managed to raise £144.41 for TOG Mind.

Tom McKeever, who is the gym manager, said: "We know many people have been struggling over the last year or so with their mental health and here at PureGym Ashton, as a team we wanted to help. It’s fantastic that so many people supported and got involved and we’re hoping to do more in the future."

For anyone inspired to explore their own superpowers, people can sign up for ‘Miles for TOG Mind 2021’ this year and aim to fundraise and complete 50 or 100 miles in a month.
