Four seriously injured in Audenshaw crash

Four people were taken to hospital after a serious crash in Audenshaw on Wednesday evening (6 January).

The crash on Shepley Road, understood to have involved two vehicles, happened shortly after 10pm.

The North West Ambulance Service has confirmed that four patients were hospitalised with serious injuries.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said two people trapped in one of the vehicles had to be rescued using specialist cutting equipment, while two others managed to free themselves before fire crews arrived.

The road was closed between Cemetery Road and Globe Lane for several hours whilst emergency services responded.
