Flying the flag for NHS workers

Tameside Hospital marked the first NHS Social Care and Frontline Workers Day with the raising of a flag this morning [5 July].

Tameside and Glossop NHS Foundation Trust Chair, Jane McCall, was joined by doctors, nurses, healthcare professionals and support and administrative staff to raise the flag, symbolising the branches that make up the NHS.

A giant rainbow balloon arch has also been installed in the hospital’s Hartshead South entrance which has been created free of charge by local balloon artists Jemma Kirkley.

The hospital paid tribute to all their staff and workers on the anniversary of the National Health Service’s 73rd birthday.

Celebrations have been taking place up and down the country to recognise the role that the national service plays in our lives.
