Dukinfield Iyenga Yoga reopens its doors

After months of closure, Dukinfield’s Manchester District Iyengar Yoga [MDIY] were delighted to reopen their doors again last Monday (7 September).

Like many organisations, huge changes have had to be made to the space to make it COVID compliant.

During the closure, the centre’s 25 weekly classes went online from teacher’s homes to ensure that people could still take part in classes, however all are now keen to get back to face to face teaching.

Classes now have a 2 metre square space in both of the large yoga studios, with extra cleaning throughout to keep it safe and secure.

Those attending are asked to bring their own equipment, but ‘yoga packs’ are available for a refundable £25. There are also new entrance and exit Strategies to minimise contact.

Students who are already back said: “It’s great to get back to live class at MDIY post lockdown. Same great teaching. COVID safe. Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen” and “I felt very safe and comfortable with the new arrangements. It was a lovely to be back in the class and see old friends.”
