Dukinfield councillor's praise for the community

LITTER PICKING GOOD: Ocean Pearson gives local councillors John Taylor, Jackie Lane and Naila Sharif a helping hand.

Dukinfield councillor John Taylor has praised residents and local groups for playing their part in helping to make Dukinfield a better place to live for everyone.

He had nothing but praise too for one youngster who has been playing her part.

Proving you are never too young to help out litter picking and helping to keep your area clean and tidy, Ocean Pearson has been helping her mum Michelle litter picking around the Blockages playing fields on her way home from school.

They take all of the litter they collect home and recycle items in their bins and say they hate the litter in the area and want to help keep Dukinfield clean.

GREEN FINGERS: Planting up around Richmond Park.

Meanwhile, residents from Richmond Park in Dukinfield have been planting flowers on the estate.

They have a well-run active Neighbourhood Watch group which also organises events on the estate.

Residents fund these events themselves and are improving the safety and environment on the estate, setting a great example to others.

Cllr Taylor added that he and local councillors are available to help others who would like to set up similar groups in their area to do the same.
