Droylsden man charged with burglary on his own street

A Droylsden man has been charged following a burglary on his own street and a separate robbery in the town.

26-year-old Jason Garrity has been charged with one count of burglary and one count of robbery.

The charges relate to a burglary on Friday, April 10 at around 9.30pm on Bell Clough Road where Garrity lives. A vulnerable occupant, a man in his 50s, was at home but wasn’t injured in the incident.

On Tuesday, April 14, a vulnerable woman was followed into her home in Droylsden and robbed at knifepoint. Thankfully, she was also uninjured.

Garrity appeared before Stockport Magistrates’ Court today, where he was remanded to appear before Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Monday, May 18.
