Droylsden library's relocation is coming up

Droylsden library will close its doors on Saturday (28 August) - but not for long as it prepares to relocate next door.

The library will be moving into the adjacent Guardsman Tony Downes House on Manchester Road.

Tameside Council has confirmed that the service will reopen there at 9am on Thursday 9 September.

The Manchester Road building that the library is moving out of has been in use for 84 years and is set to be demolished before the end of the year

Council bosses had been consulting on plans to relocate the library, which could see the site redeveloped for housing.
