Driver stopped in Ashton almost three times over the limit

A driver was stopped on Cavendish Street in Ashton just before lockdown and found to be almost three times over the legal drink drive limit.

Tameside magistrates banned Aimee Lishman from driving for almost two years after she admitted the offence.

The court heard she had 101 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when stopped on March 15. The legal limit is 35.

Magistrates banned her from the road for 23 months and issued her with a curfew order, meaning she must remain at her address for six weeks between the hours of 7pm and 7am for the duration of the order.

She was also instructed to pay £85 court costs and a £90 victim surcharge.

The driving disqualification can be reduced by 23 weeks if a driving course is completed.

The 37-year-old’s address was given as Carlton Place, Hazel Grove, Stockport.
