Driver over the limit and found with drugs in Dukinfield

A motorist stopped in Dukinfield was over the drug drive limit, magistrates heard.

Nabil Ahmed was stopped on King Street in the town and found to be over the legal limit, plus in possession of a quantity of cannabis.

The 43-year-old pleaded guilty to both charges. But he pleaded not guilty to further charges of resisting a police constable in the execution of his duty and driving without due care and attention.

However, he was found guilty of both when he appeared before magistrates in Stockport.

All of the charges had happened on May 10 last year.

He was banned from the road for 12 months, plus fined a total of £260. He must also pay £75 court costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

Magistrates ordered the cannabis be forfeited and destroyed. His address was given as Royston Road, Stretford.
