Cannabis farm discovered at house in Dukinfield

A cannabis farm containing at least 40 plants has been uncovered by police at a house in Dukinfield.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Tameside District Tasking Team and Challenger Unit carried out an early-morning raid at a property on Foundry Street at around 7.30am on Thursday (4 March).

They said they had received reports of 'unusual activity' at the address.

Nobody was inside but officers found a 'small' cannabis farm - consisting of at least 40 plants at various stages of growth - on the third floor of the property.

Police say an investigation is continuing and enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.

GMP's Tameside North and East team said: "GMP often rely on intelligence from the public so we would like to take this opportunity to appeal to anyone who may have any concerns or information about the distribution of drugs to report this to the police.

"Anyone with information should contact police on 101. Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
