Best ever harvest donation helps to feed two good causes

Dukinfield's All Saints Catholic College students have gone 'above and beyond' to make this year's harvest festival collection 'the best ever'. 

The school has said a huge thank you to parents and students following all of the fabulous donations.

Those items have now been delivered to the two good causes the college has supported this autumn.

Half of the ‘parents/carers/community harvest donation’ has now been taken to Moravian Church Foodbank in Dukinfield to help all local families in need.

While the other half has been donated to help the ‘We Shall Overcome’ food bank supplies.

The ‘We Shall Overcome’ movement helps with different social problems across the UK and in Ashton and has set up a food bank in The Station Pub thanks to Pauline Town. 

Pauline also helps with rehabilitating homeless and those suffering with drug addiction.

All of the items were stored at the school chapel and the awesome spectacle of items was clearly the most that had ever been donated.

A spokesperson for the school said: “Times are very different and difficult at the moment and people are really struggling.  

“As usual our true Tameside spirit community has dug (very) deep and given us our best haul ever! Thank you.”

SPECIAL DELIVERY: Bob Campbell and Mike Apruzzese from All Saints deliver items to the Moravian foodbank.
