Balsam Bashing in the Tame Valley

Volunteers at a previous Balsam Bashing session.

Friends of the Tame Valley volunteer Steve Martin is running a Balsam Bashing session in the Upper Haughton and Whittles Meadows on Wednesday (10 August).

Volunteers are invited to join by meeting at the entrance to the Tame Valley at the bottom of Fairlea, Denton (postcode M34 6EH) at 9am.

It's really easy to do but training will be given.

Steve said: "It would be great to see you on Wednesday. I'm hoping that the target I set for clearing Balsam from the Whittles Meadows Section will be completed, the target set was ambitious but with the help of the volunteers we can do it.

"I recommend long-sleeved tops, long pants and gardening gloves (I only have a few spare gloves)."
