Audenshaw man, 48, almost twice over the limit

A 48-year-old man from Audenshaw has been banned from the road for 20 months and fined £600 by Tameside magistrates for being almost two times over the drink drive limit.

Patrick Ward, of Windsor Drive, admitted the offence after being stopped on Gainsborough Road in the town on 18 August and found to have 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

The driving disqualification can be reduced by five months if a driving rehabilitation course is successfully completed.
