Matthew Moreland must carry out 80 hours unpaid work for offences of drink driving and taking a vehicle unlawfully.

The 30-year-old, of Eason Way, Ashton, pleaded guilty to the offences which had happened on Scotland Street, Ashton, on February 23 this year.

He was found to have 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than twice the legal limit which is 35, Tameside magistrates were told.

He also admitted taking a vehicle unlawfully and causing damage to the vehicle as a result of an accident.

Magistrates banned him from the road for 18 months and ordered him to pay £85 court costs and a £90 victim surcharge.
