Ashton councillor prepares for the wax works

Ashton Hurst councillor Dan Costello is preparing to ‘bravely’ raise funds for Willow Wood Hospice next week.

For next Wednesday he will be having his legs waxed – and streaming the spectacle live on his Facebook page!

Cllr Costello said: “I was unable to take part in the Midnight Wander this year, and my wife suggested a leg wax as an alternative as I really wanted to support this wonderful local charity. My thanks to Beauty by Laura Jane for their help with this.”

If you would like to show your support for the councillor, visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/dan-costello1 to make a donation.

In a separate event later next month, talented local singers will  be showing their support for the hospice on Friday, September 24, when the virtual 18th Enchanted Evening will be held.

This is a fabulous annual concert which has already raised over £18,000 in preceding years.

The hospice would like to thank everyone involved, particularly Mike Styan and Phil Steels who are the main organisers and Steve Pearson Car Sales for their sponsorship.

Willow Wood also has a number of fundraisers taking part in the Great Manchester Run on Sunday, September 26.

If you have a place in the event and would like to support the hospice, you can contact fundraising@willowwood.info for sponsor forms, fundraising cards and a Willow Wood T-shirt or running vest, or you can donate by going to https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/greatmanchesterrunwillowwoodhospice.
