Another successful day at Ashton Artisan Market

The artisan market in Market Square in Ashton drew good crowds on Saturday when the event was staged for only the second time.

Organised by Tameside Council’s markets team and The Market Co, it now takes place on the last Saturday of every month between 10am and 4pm as a regular highlight of the town’s calendar.

The market promises something for everyone - from arts and crafts, delicious food and drink, design and even music, as well as authentic artisan goodies.

Last month’s very first artisan market transformed Ashton town centre - with the second event managing to do the same, drawing large numbers.

The monthly destination shopping event is already proving a huge success.

Denise Valente, director at The Market Co, said: “With all the new events there is a huge amount of uncertainty from the traders, wondering if they will get the visitors they require.

“But we were amazed by the numbers and every trader has done really well, it’s really exciting and looks like the start of something really special.”

The market event runs every last Saturday of the month from 10am to 4pm and more information can be found at https://themarketco.co.uk/markets/ashton-artisan-market

The next one will be on Saturday 26 June, between 10am and 4pm.
