All the fun of the fair at Stalybridge church

A great time was had by all at St George's Church in Stalybridge as they welcomed back their spring fair.

The fair, the first since lockdown, had a variety of stalls, including plants and ornaments, handmade children’s clothes, printed gifts, wax melts, perfumes, skincare, books and jewellery, plus some old favourites including the grand raffle and tombolas.

The café did a roaring trade serving bacon butties and chocolate cake and everything in between - not forgetting the all important brew! Almost £900 was made.

The Virtual Spring Fair is still online until the end of the month so it’s not too late to take part. Go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/stgeorgesvirutalfair/

Val Fallows, church warden, said: “It’s so great that we can start doing community activities again.

“We want to be part of the community in which we serve, and seeing people enjoying the building and activities is amazing. It is so much more than raising money - it is about bringing people together and supporting each other. All the stalls were either church stalls, or small local businesses.

“Thank you to the social and fundraising team who helped make this such a wonderful event.”
