A Wizard of Oz time at Hyde Morrisons to support appeal

Shoppers could be forgiven for thinking they had arrived somewhere over the rainbow when they called into Hyde's Morrison's store recently.

For staff invited visitors to join them on the Yellow Brick Road to raising funds for a good cause.

The store team was raising money for the ‘Young Lives vs Cancer’ CLIC Sargent appeal, and specifically for Jack’s House - a ‘home from home’ in Manchester, offering somewhere special for children with cancer to stay with their families as they undergo treatment.

Community Champion at the store Laura Rushton said: “The funds are still being counted, but with a raffle and collections we know we have raised more than £300 so far.

“Our Wizard of Oz themed event went really well and was also really well received - everyone looked brilliant in their costumes.”

‘Jack’s House’ is located near The Christie in Manchester with funds going directly to its creation.

The house has been named after  12-year-old Jack Thompson who was diagnosed with a brain tumour when he was just a baby and left blind, but who has gone on to raise more than £100,000 for CLIC Sargent.
