WATCH: Pupils stride out for the Tour of Tameside

47 schools in Tameside will be participating in The Running Bee Foundation's Tour of Tameside this week.

As part of the initiative, which has been supported by The Believe and Achieve Trust and Tameside Council, two representatives from each school will be given the honour of running with the Olympic torch from 2012 and handed it over to another school. This will be done until all 47 schools have been visited by Friday.

We went down to day one on Monday and spoke to Geoff Oldfield, Games Organiser at the Tameside School Sports Partnership, about the reasons behind the initiative, the support received from partners, and the excitement surrounding the return of normal sport competitions by September.
