Tour of Tameside postponed until 2021

The Tour of Tameside has been postponed until 2021 due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

The four-day spectacle, which is a Running bee Foundation event, has since been moved to 2021.

However, a number of other events have been added to compensate for the loss of the Tour.

A statement on the Running Bee Foundation website said:

All of us here at The Running Bee Foundation can’t say enough about how thankful and grateful we are to all our NHS workers, carers, emergency services, supermarket staff, food delivery drivers, volunteers and many more incredible people who help keep our world turning in these most difficult of times.

Given the huge changes COVID-19 has brought to our communities it was expected that our race dates would change. But given the pressure our essential services are and will be under in the following months, we thought it best to go beyond the current estimated dates of when events like ours will be able to function again, to give these services ample time to recover and recuperate.

With this in mind, the Tour of Tameside scheduled for 11th to 14th June 2020 has been POSTPONED and will return in June 2021,
with all existing entries automatically transferring to June 2021.

The provisional dates for the Tour of Tameside 2021 will be the 10th to 13th June

However, to ensure you are able to get your Tour of Tameside ‘fix’ this year, we are delighted to announce two brand new events!

1. The Virtual Tour of Tameside, scheduled for May & June 2020

2. The Festive Tour of Tameside Weekender, scheduled for Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th December 2020

Details of both of these events will be released at the end of April so please keep an eye out on your emails and the Running Bee Foundation social media channels.

We trust that you understand the difficult decision which we and all other event organisers find ourselves in, and we are delighted to be able to create two new events for 2020 and also bringing back the traditional Tour of Tameside for June 2021.
