The rain held off and 11 local teams played in the four-ball competition.

The winners of the tournament were Ladies Toning Tables with a score of 89 (the team of E Johnson, A McCormick, L Duffy and J Darcy were sponsored by Glenn Campbell).

Runners-up were Country Holmes with a great score of 84 points.

The winner of a Tesco Finest hamper for ‘nearest the line’ was Adam Corbally.

The winner of two Mediterranean platters at the Wheatsheaf in Old Glossop was Alan Bradley for ‘nearest the pin’.

Howard at R J Skuphams generously donated the Mayor’s Charity Shield and all the trophies.

Thanks to all at Glossop & District Golf Club who helped to organise the event and all the players who supported the event which, through their generosity, raised more than £2,200 towards the Mayor’s charities.
