Oldham to plan for the future with Partners Meeting

Oldham Rugby League Club's first 'partners' meeting will take place on Tuesday,  December 7, 2021 at the Oldham Event Centre.

Chairman Chris Hamilton and vice-chairman John Roddy will meet representatives from Rugby Oldham, Past Players, Oldham Amateur League, Oldham Heritage Trust , the newly formed Oldham Supporters Group, former Mayor Councillor Ginny Alexander and her husband Adrian Alexander, a former Roughyeds prop who is now a club ambassador.

Following a positive meeting with Oldham Council, the club is also hopeful there will be representation from the council.

The main focus of the meeting is to bring together these important groups operating within the town in order to establish a single partnership, focused on promoting Rugby League within Oldham, and ensuring that the club plays in Oldham and attracts new supporters to the club.

John Roddy, Vice Chairman of Oldham RLFC, commented: "For various reasons the club and our key partners have been fragmented. We are delighted that we now have the opportunity to galvanise the groups to work together on our key objectives.

"Together, we are obviously stronger and in my opinion we have a fantastic opportunity to put together something very unique within Rugby League.

"The fact that we now have positive dialogue with Oldham Council and we are hopeful of the Council's attendance at our meeting is very exciting indeed."

Once the meeting has concluded, the club will provide an update on what was agreed and future steps which will be taken.

The club will then reach out to loyal supporters to outline how they can join the momentum and be part of something very special for all.
