Oldham to kick-off league campaign against Keighley

New-look Oldham Rugby League Club kick-off their Betfred League 1 campaign with a home game against Keighley Cougars on Sunday, March 27, 2022 followed by a trip to Hunslet the following Sunday, April 3.

Each of the Roughyeds ten home league games is given as a 3pm kick-off on a Sunday, but the RFL warns that fixtures at all clubs are subject to change, both dates and kick-off times.

The venue for Oldham's home games has still to be confirmed.

Stu Littler's men go to Rochdale's Crown Oil Arena for the derby clash with Hornets on Good Friday, April 15 (3pm) with the reverse fixture here on Sunday, July 10.

The other derbies against Swinton Lions, when Oldham coach Littler and veteran play-maker Martyn Ridyard face a former team that could potentially include FIVE ex-Roughyeds, are at home on Sunday, June 5 and at Heywood Road on Sunday, August 28.

There will be long away trips to London Skolars on Friday, May 27 (7pm); to Llanelli (West Wales) on Saturday, July 23 (3pm); and to Penryn (Cornwall) on Sunday, August 21 (1pm).

There will be two new clubs, Cornwall, and the re-branded Midlands Hurricanes (formerly Coventry), who will move to a new home venue in Portway, south of Birmingham.

As North Wales Crusaders have relocated from Wrexham to Colwyn Bay since Oldham last played them, Roughyeds will play three games on grounds where they have never played before, first in Colwyn Bay on Saturday, May 14 (5.30pm), then in Portway, south of Birmingham on Sunday, August 7 and finally in Penryn, down near Falmouth in the south of Cornwall on Sunday, August 21 (1pm).
