Let there be light!

East Cheshire Harriers have a bright future ahead after the club secured eight new floodlights at the Richmond Street track.

The club, which is based next to the Tameside Stadium in Ashton, was facing the prospect of closure a few months ago due to condemned and insufficient lighting.

However, after months of fundraising, a sizeable donation from Sport England, and lots of help from Tameside Council, who dealt with the tender process, the club have secured new floodlights and a sizeable grass perimeter.

There will be an official ceremony for the switch on in mid January.
