Heslop hat-trick downs Droylsden

BetVictor North West: Droylsden 1-4 Dunston

A hat trick from Scott Heslop saw Dunston to a comprehensive win at the Butchers Arms.

Both sides had chances early on, keeper Niall Harrison saving brilliantly from Andy Langford while Daniel Halliday and Luke Page both went close for the visitors

Daniel Wilkins had a great chance to score soon after, Webb Foster breaking down the right only for the attempt to clear the bar.

The Bloods took the lead on twenty six minutes through centre half Adam Rooney but Heslop equalised three minutes later, latching onto Mark Fitzpatrick’s through ball to find the bottom corner of the Droylsden net to level up.

Minutes later Heslop made it two putting the ball into the net after Chris Thompson had saved from Fitzpatrick.

Dunston took control after half time, Fitzpatrick pulling his attempt wide just two minutes after the break while Thompson was forced into saving twice in quick succession from Liam Marrs' free kicks from the edge of the area.

The Bloods created little but a mistake by the visitors saw Langford put through only to see his attempt blocked.

At the other end Pearson saw his attempt blocked by the Bloods' defence but on 58 minutes the inevitable goal came,  Heslop returned the favour for Fitzpatrick, the striker scoring the visitors' third.

The game was over as a contest six minutes later, Heslop completing his hat trick as the Droylsden defence crumbled.

Webb Foster went close with a free kick for the Bloods who brought on Bianga, West and Clooney but it finished as another disappointing outing for Dave Pace’s men who have now conceded eight goals in their last two games.
