Exciting times at New Mills Juniors

Things are growing at New Mills Juniors, who have formed two new teams and also have a new away kit.

It's the first all-girls team that the club has established, for Under-10s, and is run by Caroline Hill and Toni Petters.

The team will play friendlies in 2020 to get ready for their first season in the Under-10 Cheshire Girls League next September.

Meanwhile, the club has also launched a new Under-9s development team, which is managed by Chris Hackney and Stuart Wilson.

A statement read: "Congratulations for that must go to Nick Bennett and Steven Land for their success in getting another team up and running. The club are proud to have the team and Stuart and Chris on board."

The club also has a new blue away kit, sponsored by Whole Game, which was worn by the Under-10s and Under-11s teams at the weekend.

The Under-10s boys (pictured below), ran by Anthony McGowan and his son Dale Lees, are also looking for new players to add to their squad.

The club said: "A special mention to SHM and Managing Director Will Sugden, the New Mills Juniors' kit supplier, for all his hard work in providing excellent product quality and service. The committee and club are very pleased with all the new kit and look forward to developing our product range and club shop further still in 2020 and beyond."

The chairman added: "The committee are very proud to have our first all girls football team competing in the Cheshire Girls league for the first time in our 47-year history. The committee hope we can continue to grow with the support of our community and provide affordable football for all. The Under 9s development team is a clear indication of the club's ambition to continue to positively grow the number of teams we have competing in local grassroots football."
