Dino's First Game At Boundary Park

Oldham Athletic face Morecambe this weekend at Boundary Park in a crucial relegation clash.

The game will be Dino Maamria’s first as Oldham manager after being appointed after the sacking of Laurent Banide. The Frenchman leaves the club with a record of just seven points from a possible 27 during his short time in Lancashire. Maamria, 48, was sacked by Stevenage earlier this month after they failed to win any of their opening seven league games this season.
Mammria told the club website: "I'm hugely excited to join such an historical football club.
"The vision and ambition of the chairman was a big factor and the first priority is to stabilise and unite this great football club."

Oldham are unbeaten in their last three after a run of three successive draws. Their last two involved the Latics being 2-0 up but being pegged back late on. Oldham's opponents Morecambe have also endured a poor start to the season and are winless since the 20th August when they beat Macclesfield 1-0. Morecambe's main threat will come from in-form striker Lewis Alessandra who has scored five goals in the league so far and has been key to Morecambe's points this season.

Oldham winger Chris Eagles will hope to keep his place after impressing in Banide’s final game in charge, a 2-2 draw with Scunthorpe in midweek. Midfielder Jonny Smith, who joined from Tranmere in the summer, is pushing for his first Latics start having featured from the bench in the last two matches.
