Aldwinians' fundraising plea

Aldwinians Rugby Club is appealing to the community to help raise funds towards life saving treatment for one of their own members.

Damian McMahon, 60,  is fighting cancer and is desperately fundraising for potentially life-saving treatment. The Droylsden resident was told the devastating news last year that he had an aggressive form of rectal / liver cancer.

Despite a major operation and chemotherapy, Damian received the heart-breaking news that the cancer is not responding to treatment, and he might only have months to live. But Damian has said that he refuses to give up his fight for life. ''I have so much more to live for: I want to see my cheeky 1 year old grandson grow up and to be able to spend many more years with my beautiful wife and my 3 children.''
