Woman seriously injured in Chadderton collision

A 31-year-old female driver was hospitalised with serious injuries after colliding with a wall in Chadderton this morning (Sunday).

It happened on Hollinwood Avenue at around 5am. 

The woman, driving a silver VW Golf, was taken to hospital and remains in a stable condition. 

Greater Manchester Police say no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. 

Hollinwood Avenue was closed whilst investigation work was carried out earlier but has since been reopened. 

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward. 

Sergeant Jim Burnett, of GMP’s Road Policing Unit, said: "Sadly this incident has left a woman with very serious injuries, and we are keen to establish the full circumstances behind this collision. 

“I would like to use this opportunity to appeal to anyone who may have any information or dash cam footage from the area at the time of the incident or shortly before to get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
