Teen, 15, arrested on suspicion of raping woman

A teenage boy is one of two people arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in Oldham over the weekend.

A 27-year-old woman is believed to have been attacked in woodland close to North Croft, in the Fitton Hill area, in the early hours of Saturday morning (February 15). 

Greater Manchester Police say two arrests had been made in connection with the incident. 

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of rape and a 24-year-old man was questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to rape. 

Both have since been released under investigation. 

GMP said in a statement: "Police were called shortly before 3am on Saturday, February 15, to an alleged rape of a 27-year-old woman close to the North Croft area of Oldham.

"A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of rape and a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rape.

"Both have since been released under investigation after being questioned by police.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
