What's on at Saddleworth Museum?

As the new year settles in, there are a number of events coming up at Saddleworth Museum and Gallery in Uppermill.

On Wednesday, January 8, there is a coffee morning from 10am to 12pm. It's £1.50, which includes a pot of tea or cafetière of coffee with a biscuit.

On Saturday, January 11, it's the last day of the 'Winter Exhibition' by the Saddleworth Group of Artists from 1pm to 4pm in the community gallery. Entrance is free.

On both Monday, January 13, and Monday, January 27, there will be three one-hour sessions for family history research between 1pm and 4pm. The sessions will be run by museum volunteers and can be booked in advance at the museum. It's £5, which includes admission to the museum galleries.

On Saturday, January 18, there is a preview day for the art exhibition by Steve Stringer and David Clegg. You can meet the artists from 1pm to 4pm in the community gallery at the museum, with entrance free.

On Monday, February 17, there will be half-term 'Magic Monday' craft sessions for four to 11-year-olds from 1pm to 3pm at the museum, which will be run by museum volunteers. A colouring table will be available for free for youngsters under the age of four and refreshments will be available to purchase. Places are limited and tickets can be bought in advance from the museum reception.

The independent and accredited museum relies mostly on volunteers and has good access for the disabled.
